Breathe in the air of the Alpine meadows and be amazed at the mountain panorama. Walk through the natural surroundings and see their magnificence. That’s ZapfenHof Alm. Superbly located in the Schwarzachtal (near Gerlos) at approx. 1400 m altitude. In the summer the Alp is managed by a dairyman who looks after 35 dairy cows. A breakfast walk with the hotel manager Fritz is a special Alpine experience. After an easygoing walk on the Alp an elaborate Alpine hut breakfast with natural produce, which we’ve made ourselves, and delicious specialities and titbits from the region await you. The legendary „Melchermuas“ pancake is also a part of this, and you should definitely give it a try.

In Zell everyone will discover a very special mountain experience – whether that be while hiking, mountain climbing or on one of the many mountain bike routes, paragliding or even just on a relaxing walk. With approx. 2000 inhabitants and 2.4 km² surface area Zell am Ziller is the heart of the Zillertal. The district is the administrative and the educational centre of Zillertal. Zell is even mentioned in connection with the centuries old guest accommodations in 1428, by envoys from Italy on their trip to Salzburg! It is not just hospitality which is traditional here, The oldest private brewery (Zillertal Bier) is also based in Zell. On the 1st weekend in May Austria's largest spring and costume fest takes place, the Gauder Festival.

This festival marks the start of the season of countless festivities and hightlights which shape the summer months until the end of October.

On a surface area of 45,000 m² all sporty people can live out their need to be active with no inhibitions. Numerous leisure time offers provide the required muscle tension, with a fun factor: outdoor swimming pool with sport pool, spinning top, giant slide, children's pool, the Raiffeisen children’s adventure playground, the first Beach-Volleyball court in Zillertal, tennis courts in the hall and outdoors, minigolf, football, fun-court (volleyball, streetball and basketball) and finally the garden of senses. The new tennis hall which has a glass front means you get to enjoy the views during matches: train on 3 courts which have a fantastic view to Zell and the surrounding area. When the weather is good 4 outdoor courts invite you to have a quick rally. A tennis wall and ball machine are available for individual training. Even in winter there is any amount of leisure activities to enjoy: while one of you indulges in winter joy on the piste, the other gets to do a twinkle-toed pirouette on the artificial skating rink, or balances the puck in an ice-hockey match into the opposing goal. The four-lane bowling alley provides a social evening with friends and family.
